Wincasa: New management for Sihlcity
Wincasa appoints Sandro Engeler, the former head of the Regensdorf center, as the new head of the largest shopping center in the city of Zurich.
Sihlcity, the largest shopping center in the city of Zurich, has been managed by Wincasa since it opened in 2007. The service provider has announced that the center will have a new manager, Sandro Engeler, from 1 August. Engeler has been responsible for various centers at Wincasa since 2019, most recently managing the Regensdorf center. "We are in the fortunate position of being able to fill such important positions as the center management of Sihlcity with our own talent," says Thomas Hinderling, Head of Center & Mixed-Use Site Management (CMSM) at Wincasa. Engeler is a trained chef with a degree from the Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne SHL and an EMBA in General Management from HTW Chur. He previously worked as Key Account Manager at Gate Gourmet and as Senior Product Manager at Hiestand.
The previous Center Manager Gaby Brönimann will take over as Real Estate Area Director for Eastern Switzerland from Ronny Hofmann, who has held the newly created position of Regional Head of Center & Mixed-Use Site Management since May 2024.
Sihlcity, according to Winchasa the largest urban entertainment center in the city of Zurich with an average of 20,000 visitors per day, was built in 2007 on the site of the former "Zürcher Papierfabrik an der Sihl" in Zurich-Wiedikon. Covering an area of around 100,000 square meters, the complex comprises 80 stores, 16 restaurants, 18 cinemas and a cultural hall as well as a fitness center, a library, a medical center and, from summer 2024, another hotel.the center is owned by various Credit Suisse real estate funds.
