The German serviced apartment provider Limehome has opened its first property in Switzerland. The company has put 67 designer suites into operation in the center of Basel. The start was promising, according to the company. According to co-CEO and co-founder Josef Vollmayr, occupancy in the first few days was more than 70%. He is "more than confident that we will also achieve our usual occupancy rate of more than 90 % in this accommodation".

The apartments were created in collaboration with Gold Tree Asset Management in the historic former Hotel Basel, which was extensively renovated over the course of several months. The property in Münzgasse had been operated as a conventional hotel since the 1970s.

According to Limehome, it currently has 6,300 suites under contract at over 250 locations in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Greece and Switzerland. The chain rents out its apartments using a fully digitalized process. (aw)
