The city of Lucerne has granted planning permission for a city hotel in Tribschen. It will replace the existing building at Tribschenstrasse 7/9 from 1975, which served as an office building for the building materials cooperative HG Commerciale and the Central Switzerland Builders' Association (ZBV), who will be the joint developers and owners of the new property. The building is currently still in interim use. HG Commerciale is moving its existing offices and parts of its warehouse to Inwil, which will partially free up the existing site. The Zentralschweizerische Baumeisterverbände ZBV will retain its offices in the new building. The hotel will have 150 rooms.

Local operator

According to the owners, 60 potential hotel operators from Switzerland and abroad were contacted. In the end, the Lucerne-based company Tavolago AG was chosen. The aim is to create an "individual hotel with a modern concept" for individual travelers, families, couples, business travelers and clubs. Tavolago's parent company, SGV Holding AG, claims to be one of the largest catering groups in Central Switzerland.

Concert hall in the neighborhood to be preserved

An objection to the project lodged by the Konzertzentrum Schüür association has been withdrawn. According to the City of Lucerne, an amicable solution has been found by means of an easement agreement between the City of Lucerne and the developer that has been entered in the land register. This is intended to ensure that noise emissions are tolerated. According to a press release, the location of the concert hall has been secured for the long term. (aw)
