The Berlin-based HR Group signed a lease agreement for the traditional 5-star Hotel Seehof Davos (GR) on January 17. The luxury hotel is part of the Aroundtown investment company's portfolio. The HR Group had already taken over the Grandhotel Bélvèdere, a 5-star hotel in the town, in March last year. The HR Group now manages ten hotels in Switzerland. The Hotel Seehof, which has been in existence since 1869, is one of the oldest hotels in Davos and is located directly on the promenade. It has 113 rooms and suites, a total of 236 beds and three restaurants, including the panorama restaurant and the Chesa Seehof restaurant, as well as a 450 square meter wellness area.

Operation without an international brand

"The timing is perfect," says Ruslan Husry, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the HR Group. "Right now, when the World Economic Forum is taking place, we are delighted to be playing our part with two of our hotels when the world is a guest in Davos." For the time being, the hotel will continue to operate under the name "Hotel Seehof Davos" without any connection to an international brand.

The HR Group is the leading multi-brand hotel operator in Central Europe. The German company has been acquiring, developing and operating hotels and resorts for more than 15 years. HR works with brands such as Accor, Wyndham, Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Radisson and IHG and also manages its own brands. Aroundtown, with its operational headquarters in Berlin, is a company domiciled in Luxembourg and listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange. The company, which is one of the largest listed commercial real estate companies in Europe, was founded in 2004 by Israeli businessman Yakir Gabay. For a long time, the company concentrated on properties in Germany. (aw)
