Foundation stone laid for residential project in Grenchen
In Grenchen, the foundation stone was laid for a residential development by Vaudoise Leben. Halter AG is realizing the project as a total contractor.

In Grenchen (SO), at the southern foot of the Jura, work is progressing on a residential development at Kirchstrasse 75-79. On 13 April, the foundation stone was laid for the project by the developer Vaudoise Leben. Halter AG is the general contractor for the project designed by bauwelt architekten.
An approved project was already planned for the site, but it was no longer up to date. In order to adapt it to the investor's current needs and space requirements, it was comprehensively revised. The result was a project comprising a new five-storey building with a total of 57 rental apartments.
The L-shaped structure is positioned in such a way that the outdoor space can serve as a meeting zone, Halter says. On the ground floor, two shops with a total size of around 90 sqm are planned, facing Kirchstrasse. In addition, a parking garage with 51 parking spaces will be built in the basement. A further total of seven parking spaces will be available in the inner courtyard.
According to Halter AG, the residential development offers apartments with different floor plan typologies ranging in size from 1.5 to 3.5 rooms. Each of the apartments has either a roof terrace, a balcony or a covered seating area.
The new building project is very centrally located and is well connected to public and private transport, according to Halter's media release. Shopping facilities, public infrastructure and services are in the immediate vicinity. The center of Grenchen is around six minutes' walk from the building.
Demolition and remediation work began in November 2016. Work is currently underway to secure the excavation pit, and the structural work was launched at the same time. Completion is scheduled for the end of November 2017, with the start of the interior work and building services at the beginning of 2018. The property is then to be handed over to the client in August 2018.
