Zurich Airport once again the leading airport in Europe
For the twelfth time in a row, Zurich Airport has received the World Travel Award for its customer-friendliness and compliance with general quality standards for products and services.
In its category, Zurich Airport beat out competitors Amsterdam, Barcelona, Hamburg, London/Heathrow, Lisbon, Munich, Prishtina and Paris/Charles de Gaulle.
Since 1993, the World Travel Award has recognized special achievements in the travel and tourism industry. The competition is held internationally and awarded by the London-based media house World Travel Awards Ltd. The placings result from the votes of travel experts and the public recorded via the Internet.
Flughafen Zürich AG operates Zurich Airport as a mixed-economy listed company and concessionaire of the Swiss Confederation. In 2014, the company generated sales of CHF 963.5 million and a profit of CHF 205.9 million with a good 1,600 employees. 33.3 percent of the share package belongs to the canton and five percent to the city of Zurich.
