Retail: Kochhaus plans Swiss launch
The German food company Kochhaus also wants to gain a foothold in Switzerland. Locations in Zurich are being sought.

According to Kochhaus' website, the company has its sights set on locations in Zurich on Löwenstrasse, Theaterstrasse/Seefeldstrasse (Bellevue), Stadelhoferstrasse, Kreuzplatz, Oberdorfstrasse, Niederdorfstrasse, Stauffacher and Europaallee.
The locations should comprise 120 to 200 square meters of ground-level sales space and have a large shop window front. Kochhaus has its eye on high-quality old buildings or modern, architecturally appealing buildings with the highest possible ceilings.
The Kochhaus concept is unique in the world, the company says. The store sees itself as a walk-in recipe book: at free-standing tables, customers can find all the ingredients - including fresh produce such as vegetables and meat - they need for a particular dish. The range includes 18 recipes and is constantly changing. Delicatessen products, wines, cookbooks and kitchen utensils are also part of the offer. Cooking classes are also held at some of the locations.
The company's first store opened in Berlin in 2010. There are now eleven locations throughout Germany. In addition to Switzerland, the chain is also looking to expand into Austria.
