Pratteln: Canton sells Chuenimattareal
The canton of Basel-Landschaft sells the Chuenimattareal in Pratteln to Bricks Group AG for the realization of the Tri-innova concept.
The plan is to gradually develop areas of varying size on the Chuenimattareal for service, laboratory and production uses as well as coworking. Through the sale, the canton is aiming for dense new use in order to be able to offer companies fine spaces. The parcels are "heavily underused today and accordingly have a high development potential," according to a media release from the canton of Basel-Landschaft. Part of the site was already sold to Jaquet Technologies AG in 2013.
The cantonal government evaluated various development options for the remaining 12,000 sqm and decided on an overall concept in order to be able to achieve dense utilization and high urban development quality. The sale to Bricks Group AG is linked to the realization of the Tri-innova concept. The parties have agreed not to disclose the selling price of the Chuenimattareal.
The focus of the Tri-innova project is on uses in the areas of research and development as well as services. A total of 20,000 to 30,000 sqm is planned, which will be realized in three stages. Around half of the space is earmarked in the Core&Shell offer for anchor tenants with larger space requirements. Also planned are an auditorium, meeting rooms and facility management, which will be available to all users of the site.
Marketing will be carried out throughout Switzerland and internationally and will focus on the pharmaceutical, chemical and healthcare industries, but will also specifically address the IT and software sectors, it adds. The goal is an intelligent user mix and clustering. When fully completed, it is expected that 500 to 750 jobs will be created on the site. Completion of the first stage is scheduled for the end of 2019.
