Zurich: Laying of the foundation stone for the "YOND" project
Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, the think tank Avenir Suisse and representatives of the City of Zurich celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the "YOND" project in Albisrieden on September 28, 2017.
With its building structure, the "YOND" construction project on Albisriederstrasse is aimed at SMEs in various sectors. Service providers as well as production companies are to be united under one roof, thus creating additional benefits for all tenants, according to the initiators. The project provides two floors of use-independent space for various concepts and changing space requirements of the tenants.
"The building project combines what the zeitgeist is all about: spaces and areas that can be individually and creatively adapted to the given market situation," said Dr. Patrik Schellenbauer, Chief Economist at Avenir Suisse, at the laying of the foundation stone. For the first time in Switzerland, the entire planning and realization process is being carried out entirely according to "lean construction" principles and thus represents a "pioneering process" for the real estate industry.
According to the construction plan, the first tenants should be able to move into their spaces in "YOND" on the Siemens site in Zurich-Albisrieden by mid-2019.
