Zurich: Construction decision for PSP's new "Orion" building project
The listed company PSP Swiss Property Ltd is planning a new building in Zurich West with 23,000 sqm of office, commercial and restaurant space. The project "Orion" has meanwhile received the legally valid building permit.
Construction work will start in the first quarter of 2018. In this context, the two existing properties from the 1980s at Förrlibuckstrasse 178/180 and Hardturmstrasse 181/183/185 in Zurich West will be replaced by a new building. PSP Swiss Property has owned the existing properties since December 2002. The planned new building ensemble includes, among other things, a high-rise building with 18 floors above ground in the rear part of the site.
"The new building will meet future tenant requirements," says CEO Giacomo Balzarini. The plan is to provide "high-quality office space that can be flexibly subdivided with attractive outdoor spaces. The replacement "Orion" building will meet the latest energy and sustainability standards. Construction work is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. The total investment amounts to around CHF 120 million.
The real estate service provider CBRE has been commissioned to market the rental space, which is expected to begin next spring.
