Geneva: Implenia to build new UN administration building
Implenia prevails in an international competition organized by the UN and wins the contract to build a new administration building in Geneva.

The United Nations' goal is to bring all employees together on the Palais des Nations site. The new building supports these efforts. On a site area of around 25,000 square meters, Implenia is working with local and international partners to construct the new building in line with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
The new administration building will feature open work areas for 1,400 employees, as well as terraces and enclosed outdoor areas on each floor. The new building is located on a hillside and blends into the hills by means of terracing. The building site is located on the Geneva UN site, so safety requirements are high, Implenia writes.
Work started at the beginning of November 2017 and is expected to last until the end of November 2019. The contract is worth around CHF 100 million. The construction of the new UN administration building is the first project in which Implenia is implementing its new sustainability initiative "Chantier Marguerite".
