Hiag celebrates opening in Meyrin

The topping-out ceremony for the HP headquarters in Meyrin is celebrated at the beginning of June. Hiag Immobilien has been building the new headquarters for Hewlett Packard Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) on the 43,000 sqm site since September 2015 and is planning further company relocations there.

In September 2014, Hiag Immobilien's project, which was created in collaboration with the architectural firm CCHE from Lausanne, was awarded the contract following a call for tenders. The building permit was issued just over a year later.

By 2017, 8,264 sqm of predominantly office space will be created, distributed over four floors. On the first two floors, in addition to offices, the premises of an innovation center as well as conference rooms will be set up; on the third and fourth floors, a product showroom will complement the office and meeting rooms. In addition, an underground car park will provide space for 115 parking spaces as well as storage facilities, while a superstructure will be used primarily as technical and storage space.

Until the move to the new building, the two HP companies will remain in the existing building on the site. This will be adapted with the development of the site and, according to Hiag's plans, will provide space for new settlements as part of the total 58,000 sqm gross floor area. (ah)
