Change in the DAI Foundation Board
Prof. Dr. Markus Schmidiger and Dr. Stephan Kloess have stepped down from the Board of Trustees of the Real Estate Investment Foundation DAI and the Residential Real Estate Investment Group Germany DAWID with immediate effect. DAI has already appointed Prof. Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte and Kaare Krane as their successors. In future, the two real estate experts will be members of the investment commission of the DAWID investment group in addition to the foundation board.
Professor Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte is Professor of Real Estate Economics at the University of Regensburg and was founder and managing partner of the IRE-BS Real Estate Academy. Schulte is also the founding president of gif Gesellschaft für Immobilienwirtschaftliche Forschung e.V. and was president of the European Real Estate Society (ERES) and the International Real Estate Society (IRES).
Norwegian Kaare Krane is an independent real estate professional who is considered well connected in Germany's regional real estate markets. Among other things, Krane is chairman of the supervisory board of the listed German IFM Immobilien AG, which focuses on investment, project development and asset management of real estate.
In a statement, Prof. Dr. Markus Schmidiger and Dr. Stephan Kloess cite "irreconcilable differences regarding the issues of strategy and organization" as the reasons for their resignation from their positions as president as well as vice president of the DAI Foundation Board.
The investment foundation Immobilien DAI was established in May 2015 with the aim of providing Swiss pension funds with access to real estate investments in Switzerland and abroad. With the DAWID investment group, an investment vehicle was launched to enable Swiss pension funds to invest in the German residential real estate market. (ah)
