Oberdorf wants to build over Landsgemeindeplatz
The municipality of Oberdorf will buy the site of the former Nidwalden Landsgemeindeplatz (Baufeld A) from the canton of Nidwalden and put it to new use. The voters of Oberdorf approved a purchase right contract with a yes vote of 71.7 percent.
With the contract, the municipality secures the subsequent acquisition of part of the plot near Landsgemeindeplatz for CHF 2.9 million.
The municipal council is planning a design competition for the conversion of the site and is looking for investors. A construction project is to be initiated in 2018. The community will vote again on the definitive purchase and the project. (ah)
