St. Moritz: People say yes to health hotel

The majority of St. Moritz voters have voted in favor of the partial revision of the "Serletta South" local planning. This creates the spatial planning conditions for the construction of a health hotel and a clinic building. The new properties are planned on the lower edge of St. Moritz Dorf near the lake.

The proposal had been the subject of heated debate because the operators of two five-star hotels had spoken out against the new buildings. They feared that the new buildings would block the view of the lake.

The municipal council and the municipal board had appealed to the voters to accept the proposal. A yes vote would allow the construction of a new hotel, and the community could also retain the Klinik Gut, which would be allowed to build a new building.

After acceptance by the population, the next step will be for the Graubünden government to decide on the partial revision of the local planning. Only then can the construction project be drawn up. This would determine the detailed spatial program and also the external design of the buildings. (ah)
