SVIT pleased with outcome of elections
The Swiss Real Estate Association SVIT described the outcome of the election Sunday on October 18 as a "sunny day for the real estate industry". Parliamentarians with close ties to the real estate industry are more strongly represented in the National Council in the 2016-2019 legislative period than in the one that has just ended.

In the election campaign for the 200 seats in the National Council, SVIT Switzerland recommended and supported a total of 26 candidates with close ties to the real estate industry from a total of twelve cantons. In addition, the regional SVIT member organizations promoted these and other candidates in their respective cantons.
18 of the 26 candidates recommended by SVIT Switzerland managed to be elected or re-elected to the National Council.
The fact that the conservative parties have emerged stronger from the elections suggests that parliament will put a stop to the current trend toward more government and more regulation in the housing and real estate market, writes the SVIT in a statement. (ah)
