Climate change is considered one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. Since the beginning of industrialization, the earth's temperature has risen by an average of 0.85 degrees Celsius; it is well established that this phenomenon is largely due to human activity. The human-induced increase in carbon dioxide emissions triggers societal climate impact costs, which in turn leads to regulatory pressure on various sectors of the economy. This is increasingly relevant to the real estate industry. After all, real estate is responsible for a significant share of CO2 emissions and global energy and resource consumption - prompting architects, developers and investors to rethink their approach. Whether Minergie, DGNB, Breaam or Lead: it is no coincidence that sustainability seals are now considered a "must have" when renting or selling a property.
