Kulm Hotel St. Moritz renovates ice pavilion
The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is renovating and expanding the historic ice pavilion in Kulm Park from March 2016. Architect Norman Foster will be responsible for the eight-million CHF project in collaboration with Grisons architect Arnd Küchel.

The historic ice pavilion is considered a souvenir of the Olympic Games in Switzerland in 1928 and 1948, but is now dilapidated and in danger of collapse. Due to its location in the Sport planning zone, the ice pavilion must be subject to a sporting use, which is evidenced, for example, by the medal award for the 2017 World Ski Championships. The building application has been submitted and the start for the major investment is planned for March 2016, the Kulm Hotel informs.
The reconstruction includes the renovation of the ice pavilion, where a restaurant with a terrace will be built on the second floor of the building. On the first floor, a store and the headquarters for skate rental for the Kulm Park natural ice field are planned. In addition, a covered grandstand will be installed. (ah)
