Chur: Start of construction for "Capricorn" delayed

The construction of the "Capricorn" project at Chur train station will probably not start as planned at the beginning of this year. Local media report that no building application has yet been submitted for the project by the Chur-based architectural firm Giubbini and the general contractor Priora AG. Axa Insurance is the owner of the site and thus the developer.

For 39 million CHF, a building complex with stores, apartments and offices is to be constructed at Bahnhofplatz in Chur. For this purpose, the existing building, in which the Globus department store was rented for many years, will be demolished. Globus will no longer be represented at Bahnhofplatz in the future. According to the original plans, construction was to begin in early 2016 and the buildings were to be ready for occupancy in 2018. So far, however, it is unclear when Axa plans to submit the building application. (ah)
