Baden: Things are moving forward in the Bäderquartier

Verenahof AG plans to submit the building application for the rehabilitation and prevention clinic in the old spa hotels Verenahof, Ochsen and Bären in Baden (AG) this week. This will also allow the planned thermal spa by star architect Mario Botta to move forward.

The thermal baths and clinic must be built at the same time, because they are next to each other and will be closely interlinked operationally. The buildings are connected by an underground walkway and share the infrastructure, such as kitchen, waste disposal and parking garage.

The building application for the new thermal bath was already submitted in September 2015. The building permit could be issued at the beginning of March, according to the city of Baden. Currently, according to information from the SRF Two objections to the building application are still pending; they concern questions of traffic during the construction period and after completion.

Verenahof AG hopes to break ground on the projects before the end of 2016 so that the clinic and baths could open in late 2018 or early 2019. The baths project in Baden has been delayed several times. Construction was originally scheduled to begin in 2012, and the thermal baths were scheduled to open in 2015. (ah)
