According to a report by the Bernese newspaper the initiators around the association Pro Regio Huttwil want to build an adventure park with multimedia exhibition, adventure area, water landscape, explorer path, restaurant and store. A location has not yet been determined.

Furthermore, an Ice Age Forest is planned, which could include the first treetop trail in Switzerland and a playful excavation field in the Gondiswil pit. The construction of an observation tower with a rope park, for example at the Hohwacht site, is also under consideration. Initial cost estimates for the overall project range between CHF 13 and 22 million.

According to a master plan, expansion and optimization measures are to be implemented step by step over the next five to ten years. In the coming months, the question of the location of the Mammut Park and the Ice Age Forest will be clarified and sponsors will be sought. The legal form of the sponsorship is to be defined by spring 2016, after which implementation can begin. (ah)
