Beat Schwab moves to SBB Board of Directors
Beat Schwab, Head of Real Estate Investment Management at Credit Suisse, is moving to the Board of Directors of SBB. According to Schwab, he will continue to manage the business of Real Estate Investment Management Switzerland at CS until the end of the year and will become a professional board member and real estate entrepreneur in his own right from 2017.

Dr. Beat Schwab was nominated as a new member of the SBB Board of Directors at the Federal Council meeting on May 11, alongside Erich Ammann, CFO of Schindler Group, and Dr. Georg Kasperkovitz, Finance Director at Mondi. They replace the departing Board members Ulrich Gygi, Conrad Löffel and Hans-Jürg Spillmann.
Schwab, 49, works for Credit Suisse as Head Real Estate Investment Management and is Managing Director in this function. His previous positions include CEO of Wincasa AG, member of the Executive Board of ISS Schweiz AG and Managing Director and co-owner of Sevis AG, Facility Services. Schwab holds a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Bern and an MBA from Columbia University.
At the end of January 2016, the Federal Council had already approved the proposal to elect the current Vice Chairwoman Monika Ribar as the new Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of SBB. The election of the new Chairman and the new Board members is scheduled for the Annual General Meeting on June 15, 2016. (ah)
