Belvédère Hotels Scuol is planning a "ski-in ski-out" resort where winter sports enthusiasts will have direct access to the ski slopes. The hotel is to be built at the end of Scuol's valley descent, in the municipality of Rachögna. The hotel will have 100 rooms with 200 beds and will be in a price segment that is also affordable for families, according to a media release from the hotel group.

A new type of gastronomy concept and a wellness area are also planned for the resort, which is geared toward sporty guests. In summer, the accommodation provider wants to focus on guests who travel to the Lower Engadine for rafting, biking, climbing or hiking.

In a second stage, two further buildings with 30 managed vacation apartments each are to be built. Guests and owners of the 2.5- and 3.5-room apartments will have access to the hotel's range of services. The new resort will have a total capacity of just over 500 beds. When completed, the resort is expected to generate over 70,000 additional overnight stays annually.

So far, the preliminary and project work has been done with the office Fanzun Architekten from Chur. In a next step a company will be founded. The construction decision for the new hotel should be made within the next six months. The start of construction is scheduled for 2017 and the opening of the hotel for the winter season 2018/19.
