Hotels: 79 projects under development throughout Switzerland

The franc shock has apparently not harmed the investment enthusiasm in the hotel sector. According to data from the information service provider Tophotelprojects, 79 construction projects are currently under construction or in planning in Switzerland.

Among the outstanding projects, according to Tophotelprojects the Ski-in ski-out resort with 500 beds planned by Belvédère Hotels Scuol. The new Aparthotel The Myrrhen with around 260 beds is being built in Mürren in the Bernese Oberland; the building permit would be issued recently.

The newly built Deltapark Vitalresort, a first-class vacation hotel with 106 rooms, three restaurants, spa and medical wellness area as well as conference rooms, opened on Lake Thun. The Deltahäuser, which date back to the 1960s, were expanded with new buildings on the total lakefront property of 90,000 square meters.

The information service provider highlights the following other projects: the new airport hotel in Zurich (Hyatt Regency, 250 rooms, planned opening: end of 2019), the luxurious Giardino Resort in Grindelwald (70 suites, planned opening: end of 2017), the second design hotel of the 25hours chain in Zurich (170 rooms, opening: spring 2017) and the redesign of the legendary Bürgenstock Resort high above Lake Lucerne (377 rooms, planned reopening in summer 2017).
