"It is the interweaving of garden culture and nature that is forward-looking for us," says Reto Locher, executive director of the Nature & Economy Foundation. "Creating this interplay harmoniously is an art, and only a few successful examples exist. That's why the Suurstoffi site is an important pioneering project."
For the master planning of the western part of the Suurstoffi site, the Millefleurs concept by Hager Landschaftsarchitektur Zurich was implemented. The basis is a continuous grass carpet that connects all spaces. The open space concept in the eastern part of the site will be further developed, expanded and supplemented over the next three years, so that ultimately a park landscape will be created in the Suurstoffi on five hectares of publicly accessible space.
