More than 300 prominent figures from the industry and illustrious guests came to the Mövenpick Hotel Regensdorf on June 21: Miran Mislovic of immoinfo.24.ch hosted the awards ceremony in the categories of management, project development, marketing, stock market performance and real estate personality of the year. Newly integrated were also the awards of the Swiss Association for Location Management (SVSM) for excellent performance in location promotion.

Innovative all around

The evening and the awards brought new solutions to the attention of the audience: In the management category, the Domicil Foundation landed in first place. The non-profit foundation has already provided more than 1,800 apartments to socially disadvantaged households in recent years and is dependent on the goodwill of the real estate industry - today even more so than in the past, especially since the share of affordable apartments in the overall market is tending to decline. The business model of DM Bau AG is apparently following a trend of the times: the company was awarded the prize in the project development category for its services to mobile and temporary buildings. The modern modular construction method of DM Bau AG offers comfort and the latest technology, but the buildings can be realized and, if necessary, moved again much more quickly than conventional solid buildings. True to the motto: In 2016, not all real estate would have to be designed for eternity by a long shot.

Award for the Tertianum

This year, the award in the marketing category went to the Tertianum Group. The jury, which made the preselection in all categories, and the participants in the online voting were impressed by what Tertianum achieved with the new Vitadomo senior center: While expensive five-star residences are increasingly experiencing marketing problems, Tertianum deliberately placed the new Vitadomo building in the middle class. The service package here is finely tuned, individualized and transparent in its pricing. The new approach lowers costs and does not oblige anyone to pay for an expensive 24-hour service that the often healthy and sprightly seniors do not even need. So a clear message: "Services yes, but only as much as you need." While in the first three categories the jury and the public vote were the deciding factors, in the race for the Stock Exchange Performance Award it was purely the figures that were decisive: of all the listed real estate funds and real estate companies, Pax Anlage AG shone in 2015. The honor is also a recognition of the strategic reorientation of the company, which was founded in 1959 and focuses on Swiss residential real estate.

Real Estate Personality of the Year: Dr. Riccardo Boscardin

In a tidy mood, Riccardo Boscardin from Basel accepted the "Real Estate Personality of the Year" award. "For me, it's like the crowning achievement of my career in the real estate industry, which started back in 1984," said the lawyer with a doctorate in law, formerly also Head of Global Real Estate UBS, among other things. In keeping with the motto "a rolling stone gathers no moss," Boscardin continues to be active in the industry in retirement, among other things with various mandates in the Geneva area, where he cultivates his flair for the francophile cultural and economic region. He is also a member of the board of directors of Privera and, most recently, chairman of the board of the new real estate company Investis.

SVSM Award for the Light Festival in Murten

One of the SVSM awards went to the Murten Light Festival, which put a lot of heart and soul into boosting tourism in the pretty little town. The Third Place project "mia engiadina" was also honored for its innovative approach to making the mountain region attractive in the context of digitalization and fiber optic networks. The theme of digitization ran through the evening like a common thread, especially since several winners and nominees were in some way related to it. The words of thanks from Hannes Wüest and Martin Hofer of Wüest & Partner, who were honored as location managers for their many years of work in spatial information, were in keeping with this: For at the beginning of Wüest & Partner stood the idea of capturing location qualities and trends in spatial development in figures - or simply "digitizing" them.
