Ticino: Reka plans replacement building for vacation village
The Swiss travel fund Reka wants to expand its vacation village in Lugano-Albonago. To this end, the existing village is to be demolished and rebuilt.

The plan is to expand the facility from the current 43 to a maximum of 53 apartments. The facility in Albonago was built in 1964 as the first Reka vacation village ever. With 219 occupancy days per vacation apartment, the existing vacation village was one of the best-used in 2015, according to Reka.
The current vacation village will continue to operate until the end of September 2017. The new construction is scheduled to take place from October 2017 and will last two and a half years. The reopening is scheduled for March 2020. Following the recently communicated purchase of the Parkhotel Brenscino in Brissago Reka is further expanding its portfolio in the tourist canton of Ticino with the enlarged vacation village of Lugano-Albonago.
