As has only just become known, the Visp municipal council decided at the end of June to award the Litterna-Halle site to the Swiss Prime Investment Foundation as the bidder with the highest offer in accordance with the invitation to tender at a price of CHF 5.7 million. "In addition to the price, the foundation was also able to convince us in many other important points, such as financing security, project presentations and the intention to work with local companies in the realization of the project. The sales price exceeded our expectations." quotes the online portal 1815.ch the president of the municipality Niklaus Furger.

The sale of the Litterna property must be approved by the original assembly. But with the sale, the first pillar of the financing of a new event and ice sports hall in Visp is now secured. The municipality is also in advanced negotiations with a sponsor and name giver, Furger continues. An architectural competition for the building project is currently underway and should be completed next month.

The Litterna Hall, a closed ice stadium, was built in 1979 and today has a capacity of around 4,300 seats. It serves as a venue for the EHC Visp ice hockey club. (ah)
