Thun wants to develop station area
The city of Thun is planning to develop the area around the train station in terms of urban development. This could trigger investments totaling around CHF 100 million over the next five to 15 years.
For some time now, the city of Thun has been striving for a high-quality urban development use with optimized traffic infrastructure for the area around the train station.
From the point of view of the "ESP Bahnhof Thun" planning platform, the most important sub-projects include the development of the "Rosenau-Scherzligen" site, densification and development on the "Aarefeld Nord" site and denser development of the "Rampenstrasse" site. In addition, the areas and public transport uses around Bahnhofplatz are to be spatially reorganized.
For the next planning steps, the municipal council has now approved a credit of CHF 916,000 for the attention of parliament, which will decide on it on September 22. (ah)
