Halter wants to develop Attisholz site
Halter is taking over the Attisholz site in the Solothurn municipality of Riedholz from the previous owner Attisholz Infra. The former industrial site is to be developed in stages.

Since the closure of the cellulose factory in 2008, Attisholz Infra (AIN) has been pushing ahead with the planning fundamentals for the development of the site. Currently, the draft for a new land use plan is available. Now AIN, a subsidiary of the Norwegian Orkla Group, is handing over the baton to a long-term investor. CBRE advised AIN in this process.
With an area of around 16 hectares, the former cellulose factory is one of the largest development areas in Switzerland. The site also includes large areas of agricultural land, various groups of buildings with old villas and other buildings on the southern slope of the Aare. Halter wants to take over the entire site in a phased transition process. "The development of the Attisholz site is a generational project for us," says Markus Mettler, CEO of Halter. One initial goal, he says, is to revitalize the existing building complexes with further interim uses.
"The site has outstanding qualities with its location directly on the Aare and its industrial witnesses of the past," Mettler continues. The proximity to the central axis and the cultural city of Solothurn increases the site's potential. In addition, the settlement of Biogen on the south side of the Aare has initiated a dynamic development of the site. (ah)
