Richterswil: SPS can build residential and nursing home
Swiss Prime Site (SPS) can realize its nursing home project on Gartenstrasse in Richterswil (ZH). The voters of the municipality decided in favor of the sale of the plot on November 27.
The municipality of Richterswil will transfer the property on the Silberschmidt site at Gartenstrasse 7 to Swiss Prime Site for CHF 4.96 million. For the municipality, this will result in a loss of just under one million CHF. With the sale, the municipality has attached the condition to build a residential and nursing home with dementia department at Gartenstrasse 7.
The nursing home operator Seniocare, which belongs to the Tertianum Group of SPS, operates the Etzelblick residential and nursing home directly next to the sold property, at Gartenstrasse 15. The property is to be integrated into the new building, which will also be called Etzelblick. The new building will be ready for occupancy in 2020, local media report.
The sale of the site on Gartenstrasse ends a long discussion about the residential and nursing home: Since the acquisition of the site in 2007, the people of Richterswil have voted on the project several times - until the municipality's finances forced the council to consider alternatives in April of this year. In the event of a No to the sale, the municipality would have had to realize the project, which had been approved by the population, itself at a cost of CHF 28.54 million. (ah)
