"Mall of Switzerland": Opening now on November 8
The new shopping and leisure center "Mall of Switzerland" is now scheduled to open its doors on November 8, 2017. This is announced by the project developer FREO.

"Together with representatives of the tenants", the opening date of the "Mall of Switzerland" in Ebikon near Lucerne has now been set for November 8, 2017. "We are looking forward to the opening and are proud to be able to offer Central Switzerland a unique destination for the whole family at the beginning of November that surprises and inspires time and again," explains Bernd Hofer, who as Managing Director of FREO Switzerland AG is responsible for the project development.
Work is currently in full swing on the interior fit-out of the mall and the individual store areas. This also applies to the leisure area, which is to offer further special attractions with Switzerland's first standing indoor wave, the country's largest IMAX cinema screen and the multiplex cinema with twelve screens.
In addition to the construction work and preparations for the opening activities, negotiations with additional tenants and interested parties are underway in order to continuously optimize the tenant mix and take their needs into account in the design, Hofer said. Management expects to make further announcements regarding new tenants and attractive offers already in the coming weeks.
With a total of 65,000 square meters of leasable space and around 150 stores and food outlets, the "Mall of Switzerland" will be Switzerland's second-largest shopping and leisure center when fully completed. According to the developer, it will offer "exceptional leisure and sports facilities," a children's land and comprehensive services. With its own train and bus stop, highway access and a large bicycle parking garage, the "Mall of Switzerland" will be one of the best connected shopping centers in Switzerland, FREO said.
Originally, the mall was scheduled to open on September 28This was then later, however, with reference to necessary extensive reconstruction work in the interior been postponed until the beginning of November.
