Long-time SPS CEO Markus Graf is dead
Markus Graf, real estate expert and former manager of Olten-based real estate company Swiss Prime Site, died unexpectedly of heart failure last Saturday.
Markus Graf, a 68-year-old qualified architect, has played a key role in the planning and realization of major Swiss construction projects, including the Messeturm in Basel as well as the Prime Tower and the large Sihlcity development in Zurich.
After holding leading positions in several construction and real estate companies, Graf took over as head of Credit Suisse's Real Estate Asset Management division in 1995, which he led until 2012. Among other things, he built up the real estate fund business there. In 1999, he added the management of SPS Swiss Prime Site AG, which Graf led as CEO from its founding until 2015, during which time it developed into the largest Swiss real estate company. He then served on the board of directors of the listed company until 2017. Shortly before the turn of the year, the manager, who lives in Feldbrunnen, had resigned from office to devote himself to selected tasks and mandates in the real estate sector. Graf is survived by his wife and three children.
