Claus Thomas (54), Chairman of the Management Board at LaSalle Investment Management in Germany, will leave LaSalle "at his own request and on the best of terms" at the beginning of 2019 to pursue a new professional challenge, LaSalle announced on August 1. It is not known whether a successor for Claus Thomas has already been identified.

Claus Thomas began working for the JLL Group in 1991 in the Capital Markets division, where he remained until 2000. In 2000, he moved to the then newly founded LaSalle Investment Management, whose German branch Thomas has helped to establish over the past 18 years. During this period, the company grew from an initial staff of three to almost 50 employees today, with over 2.5 billion euros in real estate assets managed out of Germany. This period also saw the founding of LaSalle Investment Management Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft in 2010, for which Thomas served first as deputy chairman of the supervisory board and from 2013 as managing director. In addition, he was a member of the European Management Board from 2009.

LaSalle Investment Management Inc, an operationally independent subsidiary of JLL, currently manages approximately €60 billion in direct and indirect real estate assets (as of Q1 2018).
