Implenia builds St. Andrew's Tower in Zurich North
SBB Immobilien has commissioned Implenia to build the Andreasturm at Zurich Oerlikon station. The plans for the 80-meter tower, which is to become a landmark in Zurich North, were drawn up by architects Gigon/Guyer, who also designed the Prime Tower. According to Implenia, the contract is worth CHF 100 million.
The Andreasturm will have around 20,000 square meters of office space and further areas for retail and gastronomy and will be directly connected to the Perron and Oerlikon station underpass. The large-scale project will be built in accordance with the "DGNB Platinum" label adapted by the Swiss Sustainable Building Council (SGNI). Construction work is scheduled to begin in April 2016, with completion planned for 2018. (ah)
