To the west of Schlieren station, a residential building along the tracks will border the station square and enliven it in the future with public-oriented ground-floor uses. There will be 30 2.5- to 4.5-room apartments, some with overheight living spaces, which will be marketed from the end of 2017.

The end of the station area is formed directly next to the West Passenger Underpass by an office building with commercial uses on the first floor.

These new buildings close the urban gap between the station building and the adjacent residential buildings. Occupation of the residential and office buildings is scheduled for mid to late 2018.

In another project, the historic and listed station building is to be refurbished. In addition, the construction of a kiosk pavilion is planned, which will mark the main access to the trains. Discussions are currently taking place between SBB and the city of Schlieren. The start of construction for the renovation of the station building as well as the kiosk pavilion is planned for the end of 2018, the opening for autumn 2019.

SBB is investing around CHF 32 million in the first stage of the "Am Bahnhof Schlieren" project. (ah)
