Geneva: Laying of the foundation stone for Campus Santé
The symbolic laying of the foundation stone for the Campus Santé in Grand-Saconnex in Geneva took place on June 13. An office complex with 40,000 square meters of gross floor area is being built in the Jardin des Nations by the end of 2017, where several healthcare organizations will move into their headquarters.
Implenia had developed the Campus Santé and is executing the project as total contractor on behalf of Credit Suisse's CSA RES Commercial investment group. Implenia is thus assuming responsibility for the turnkey, operational construction of the office building in its entirety.
The tenants - the leases have a term of ten years - include the international organization The Global Fund and the GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization). Other public health institutions will also move into their headquarters at Campus Santé. In total, the property provides space for 1,200 workstations on a gross floor area of 40,000 square meters (including the basement). The building, with its articulated form and striking facade with elements of anodized metal, was designed by the Geneva-based architecture firm LRS Architectes. The Campus Santé is being built to the Minergie standard.
According to Beat Schwab, Head of Real Estate Investment Management Switzerland at Credit Suisse, Western Switzerland, as a strong and dynamic part of Switzerland, is of great importance for the investment strategy of Real Estate Investment Management: "The Jardin des Nations has proven itself as an area for international organizations. I am convinced that a building will be realized here that will be of great benefit to its tenants," he said at the groundbreaking ceremony. (ah)
