Geneva: Laying of the foundation stone for Pont-Rouge
The laying of the foundation stone for the large Pont-Rouge development was celebrated on June 23, 2016. The client, SBB AG, is thus realizing one of the largest real estate projects in the Geneva region. The first construction phase alone involves an investment volume of CHF 250 million.
Implenia was selected as the total contractor for the first stage, construction area B1.
The large-scale development will create a new urban quarter around the future Lancy-Pont-Rouge train station less than two kilometers from downtown Geneva, with offices and commercial space, restaurants, cafés, stores, leisure facilities and public amenities. In addition, there will be around 600 new residential units, with a good mix of non-profit and collective housing and condominiums.
Construction field B1 is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2018. (ah)
