Glatt Tower to be renewed
The twelve-story office tower of the Glattzentrum in Wallisellen, the Glatt Tower, is to be revitalized, according to a report in the "Tages Anzeiger".
Like the daily advertiser reports, the red-brown, 40-year-old high-rise building will be skeletonized. The façade will be changed, among other things the windows will be pulled down to the floor. In addition, the insulation and room layout will be renewed and the elevators will be brought up to date.
Conversion work will begin at the end of 2017, and the first tenants should be able to move back into the tower at the end of 2018. Jobs for 800 to 1,000 people will be created. It is still unclear who will be among the tenants. The center's management would like to see daily advertiser a school or a yoga university, whose students will then also visit the shopping center. Unconfirmed estimates put the investment at around CHF 200 million.
The shopping center in the separate part of the building is not affected by the reconstruction. (ah)
