The purchase price for the property is CHF 3.856 million, the city of Bern reports. The five-story building was built in 1933 and 1934 as a residential building, but since a complete renovation in 1994 it has been used as an office building for the federal administration. The building is in good condition with no major maintenance needs, according to the city of Bern.

The use of the building as an office building is to be continued only in the medium term, and the original residential use is to be revived as part of the next major renovation. Twelve new apartments are planned - this would create additional living space in a central location, according to the Bern City Council. (ah)
