Building 2" will be located next to "Building 1", which was inaugurated just over a year ago, and will tower over this high-rise by around 30 meters. Initial preparatory work has already begun, and the actual construction work is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2018.

Roche is investing a total of three billion CHF in its headquarters, with "Building 2" alone accounting for 550 million CHF. When completed, the high-rise will be 205 meters high and house a total of 2,400 on 50 floors. In contrast to "Building 1," "Building 2" will be a pure office building.

In addition to the spectacular high-rise, other buildings are being constructed: Three new office and service buildings are being built on the western edge of the site, plus a warehouse building for site logistics on the eastern edge towards Schwarzwaldallee. A research and development center is planned along Grenzacher Strasse. The complex consists of four buildings up to 112 meters high which, when completed, will provide workplaces for 1,900 scientists. A test and control laboratory is being built on Wettsteinallee, and at the same time other office buildings will be modernized starting in 2018. (ah)
