Swiss Life AM acquires in Leipzig
Swiss Life Asset Managers is expanding its real estate portfolio in Germany with the Bernsteincarré residential and commercial building in Leipzig. The project is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2017.
The Bernsteincarré is being built between Reichsstrasse, Böttchergässchen, Katharinenstrasse and Brühl in the heart of Leipzig's city centre; the developer is OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH. Shops, restaurants and offices will be set up on 6,500 sqm of rental space, plus 18 apartments ranging in size from 40 to 90 sqm. The Bernsteincarré is to receive DGNB certification in gold.
"The location in Leipzig's city centre is excellent and Leipzig is one of the most dynamically growing cities in Europe. This meets our criteria for success," says Florian Bauer, responsible for Swiss Life Asset Managers' real estate business in Germany.
As exclusive transaction advisor, the German Swiss Life Asset Managers real estate subsidiary Corpus Sireo was responsible for the acquisition and due diligence process. The transaction was accompanied exclusively by JLL on behalf of OFB on the seller side. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. (ah)
