Fundamenta: Shifting chairs in the executive suite
The Fundamenta Group is making key appointments: Marcel Schaad, previously with Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, is joining the Executive Board as Head of the new Acquisition & Investment Solutions division. The new CFO at Fundamenta will be Christian Gätzi.

Marcel Schaad (43) will take up his new position as Head Acquisition & Investment Solutions and member of the Executive Board on November 1 of this year. Christian Gätzi, 41, will take over as Fundamenta's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on January 1, 2022; he has been with the company until now as Manager Corporate Development.
Schaad and Gätzi succeed Hans-Peter Gehrig (55), Head of Real Estate Purchasing, and CFO Thomas Hiestand (56), who are stepping down from their operational activities. They will remain associated with the company in the future as advisory board members, Fundamenta announces.
Schaad joins Fundamenta from Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, where he worked for a good eight years. He joined Swiss Prime Site in 2013 and most recently served as Head Acquisition & Sales and member of the Executive Board. Previously, he worked as a lawyer, among others at Bär & Karrer as well as Eversheds Sutherland. In his newly created role as Head of Acquisition & Investment Solutions, he will expand Fundamenta's network with a focus on real estate developments and commercial uses and broaden the range of services for institutional and private real estate owners, according to the asset manager. Schaad reports to Daniel Kuster, Fundamenta Group's chief executive officer (CEO).
Andreas Kohlbrenner (50), who has built up and developed the Real Estate Purchasing division together with Hans-Peter Gehrig since 2012, will be promoted to Head Acquisition as of January 1, 2022, Fundamenta further announces.
Christian Gätzi, currently still Manager Corporate Development at Fundamenta Group, succeeds Thomas Hiestand as the new CFO. He only joined the company at the beginning of the year, having previously worked for more than twelve years at the consulting firm IFBC AG, most recently as a partner. Prior to that, he worked in various functions in Switzerland and abroad at UBS. (ah)
