Cham Group: Shake-up in the executive suite
Andreas Friederich, previously CEO of the Cham Group, has left the company. Claude Ebnöther is taking over as CEO on an interim basis.
Andreas Friederich has left Cham Group to take on new professional challenges, the company says. Friederich joined the group in 2015 as head of the real estate division and was appointed chief executive officer (CEO) in 2018. The architect had already been involved as a consultant in the planning for the transformation of the former industrial site into the Papieri living and working quarter since 2013.
Claude Ebnöther will take over as Chairman of the Executive Board on an interim basis. He has been a member of Cham Group's Real Estate Committee since 2012 and has been on the Board of Directors since 2018. He has been familiar with the Papieri project from the outset, Cham Group said. Ebnöther was CEO of Hammer Retex AG from 1980 to 2015 and thus has a lot of experience in real estate development in the region.
With the completion of the first construction phase at the end of 2022, commercial tasks such as property management, site management and tenant contact will increasingly become the focus of the CEO's duties in the future, according to the Cham Group. The Board of Directors wants to use the change of leadership as an opportunity to find a successor who will focus on the corresponding requirements of the next development phase of the Papieri site.
