Baloise: New Head of Real Estate

Jean-Pierre Valenghi, former Co-CEO of the real estate portal Newhome, will take over as Head of Real Estate at the Baloise Group.

Jean-Pierre Valenghi is to take up his new position as Head of Real Estate in January 2022, the Baloise Group has announced. The 44-year-old will then be responsible for the insurer's entire real estate division with around CHF 9 billion in assets under management. Baloise Asset Management AG's real estate division employs around 60 people who manage a portfolio of more than 570 properties and 38,000 rental properties. According to Matthias Henny, Chief Investment Officer of the Baloise Group, the division has strategic relevance in the acquisition of third-party assets until 2025.

Valenghi was responsible for the establishment and development of the real estate portal Newhome.ch from 2013 until July 2021, initially as CEO and CFO, and most recently as Co-CEO. Prior to this, he held various real estate positions at PwC Switzerland, including Head of Real Estate Consulting. Before joining PwC, he worked for 14 years in the family business, the real estate investment company Valenghi AG. His appointment as Head of Real Estate at Baloise is still subject to approval by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority Finma. (ah)
