Erol Doguoglu will take up his new position on May 1. He has worked in various planning and architectural offices, including as a member of the management or partner. For six years, he already worked as a city architect for the structural engineering office of the city of St. Gallen. Since 2015, he has headed the cantonal building construction office in Thurgau.

Doguoglu completed his architectural studies at the ETH Zurich. He earned a postgraduate degree in business management at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen, and is expected to obtain a CAS in mediation from the University of Fribourg in 2023.

In St. Gallen, Doguoglu succeeds Michael Fischer. Fischer left the canton's Department of Construction and Environment at the beginning of December. At the time, his employer announced that there had been "differences of opinion about the conduct of his office". (aw)
