A few weeks ago, Donato Scognamiglio announced that he was stepping down as CEO of Iazi. In doing so, he indicated that he wanted to become more involved in politics in the future (IB reported). Scognamiglio has now made his candidacy for the National Council public. "It is particularly important to me to stop stigmatizing property owners and to focus on the fact that they are part of the solution and not the problem," writes Scognamiglio on his Linkedin profile. "I want to be a voice in Bern that counterbalances the prejudices that say property owners are just ripping people off."

Scognamiglio has been CEO of Iazi since 2002 and will be a member of the Board of Directors. In February, Scognamiglio was elected to the Zurich Cantonal Council as an EPP representative for the Bülach district. He is now also seeking a seat on the National Council on the EPP list. (aw)
