Solothurn city planning office under new management
Yves Gaudens will be the new head of the Solothurn city planning office from November. He succeeds Andrea Lenggenhager.
Andrea Lenggenhager, long-time head of the Solothurn city planning office, has resigned from her position at the end of October this year after 14 years in office. Yves Gaudens has now been appointed as her successor.
Yves Gaudens is currently Head of the Civil Engineering and Operations Department in the municipality of Ostermundigen (BE); the civil engineer was previously a member of the management team at a large engineering company in Lyss. The 52-year-old will take up his new position at the Solothurn municipal planning office at the beginning of November 2023, the city announced.
Solothurn is currently undergoing a number of major urban development projects: In the Weitblick area in the west of the city, a new quarter with living space for 1,700 people and just as many jobs is to be built on an area of more than 125,000 square meters. In addition, SBB and the city want to develop the area around the west train station, and there are also plans to upgrade the south side of the main train station. (ah)
