Outgoing Implenia boss becomes Chairman of the SBB Board of Directors
When André Wyss leaves his position at Switzerland's largest construction group in spring next year, he will move to the Board of Directors of Swiss Federal Railways, where he will take over as Chairman in 2026.
At its meeting on August 21, the Federal Council approved the election of André Wyss to the SBB Board of Directors. Wyss is to be elected to the Board at SBB's Annual General Meeting next April and will take over as Chairman in 2026.
Shortly beforehand, it had become known that Wyss was giving up his position as CEO of Implenia. He said he wanted to focus on "existing and new mandates". Wyss is already a member of the Board of Directors of Implenia subsidiary Ina Invest AG and a member of the Board of Partners of E. Merck KG. He is also involved as President of the "Basel Statistical and Economic Society" and as designated President of the "Friends of the Baloise Session".
After completing his apprenticeship as a chemical technician, André Wyss studied economics at the School of Business and Administration and continued his education at Harvard Business School. Before joining Implenia, Wyss was a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis, where he most recently managed global production and all central services with around 40,000 employees. (aw)
