The architectural firm Spühler Partner is responsible for the refurbishment and conversion, and the client is PSP Properties Ltd. The work has been underway since 2013, and now the interior fit-out of the store has been put out to tender in the official gazette. The office part of the building should be ready for occupancy as early as October.

The "Gryffenberg" house was built between 1883 and 1885 in the style of the German late Renaissance in the former Kratz quarter. The builder was the Swiss entrepreneur Adolf Guyer-Zeller. After his death in 1899, the building was rebuilt several times, some of them very extensively. In 1951and 1952, the facade was renovated, including the removal of architectural decorative forms that were considered outdated. There has been no major remodeling since 1973. (ah)
